This print has been in storage since 1967 and has slight discolorations around the print border which does not distract from the beauty of the print and would be easily covered up when matted and framed.
He raced in and won in France, Belgium, and England. His produce has won stakes on four different continents – Europe, North America, Africa, and Asia.
Bred in France, *Easton won the Prix de la Reine Mathilde at Deauville in France at 2. As a 3-year-old he raced in three countries. He won the Prix Ladas in France, Belgium’s great international race – the Grand International d’ Osiende, and England’s Select Stakes at Newmarket. *Easton also ran second to Colombo in the Two Thousand Guineas and second to Windsor Lad in the English Derby. At four, *Easton raced only in England. He won the Lingfield Park Spring Stakes under 137 lbs., the March Stakes (136 lbs.) and Ribblesdale Stakes at Ascot under 138 lbs.
Retired to the stud in England in 1936, *Easton’s first crop started racing in 1939; the year war broke out in Europe. This resulted in fewer racing opportunities for his get in Europe. After five years at stud, *Easton was brought across the submarine infested waters of the Atlantic and has stood since 1941 at Meadowview Farms, owned by F. Wallis Armstrong. His produce include Silver Phantom, winner of South Africa’s top race, the Durban July Handicap; Kinkajou, winner of India’s Viceroy Cup; Wildlife, winner Shevlin and Dwyer Stakes in America; Red Shoes, Sun Bath (a top steeplechaser), Le Texas (in France), Joke, and many other stakes winners in Europe and America.
