Trained and driven by Joe O’Brein, Blaze Hanover became the leading harness two-yearold of all time in point of earnings, collecting $142,000 s a juvenile.

He capped this fresman racing record by winning a dramatic four-heat Hambletonian the next season. He stepped the last quarter of the final heat in :27-2/5 to set his record of 1:59-4/5.

His other victories included the Horseman Futurity, Hilltop, Greyhound and Castleton Handicaps. He earned a total of $239,069 in his only two active seasons.

He retired in 1960 to enter stud at S.A. Camp’s Almhurst Farm, Lexington, Kentucky.

His breeding as well as his own racing record foreshadow the strong possibility of stud success for the Camp performer. His sire is the Hambeltonian winner Hoot Mon 3, 2:00, a leading trotting sire; and Blaze Hanover’s grandma is Hanover’s Bertha, winner herself of the Hambletonian and the Kentucky Futurity.
